      Il-ferh u l-briju ddominaw waqt il-marc popolari li sar il-bierah fil-ghodu fil-Festa ta' San Gwann Battista fix-Xewkija. Folol kbar ta' nies Xewkin, Ghawdxin u anke Maltin attendew ghal dan il-marc popolari f'Ghawdex. Iz-zegt baned mistiedna din is-sena kienu il-Banda Maltija Duke of Caunought's Own ta' Birkirkara flimkien mal-Banda Ghawdxija Victory tax-Xaghra. Il-marg kien organizzat miz-zghazagh Xewkinli holqu briju milakba b'mod specjali fil-pjazza u fit-tmiem tal-marc. [ Ritratti: Frans Galea u Joseph Xuereb ]
